Blog #3
Conflict in most novels is usually a single event broadened into a larger problem. In Dark Inside, the conflict is the entire novel, and there is no resolution in sight. Conflict doesn't arise between characters in the novel, but they must only overcome the conflict of the entire world around them. The only conflict the characters have are with themselves, and whether they should be in a group or on their own. by the end if the novel each character has lost friends or others, and wish they didn't have to be with them. one character also tells a story of it being to hard to be around people you know and to see them die. my question is, if your odds of survival were exactly the same, would you be in a group of people you know? or would you want to be on your own so you wouldn't have to go through if they were to die?

Characters
In Dark inside there are multiple characters, and each chapter jumps between their different stories. They all have their own struggles they must go through and they are all quite different. Mason is a student in Seattle who's mother died shortly before the catastrophe and his school is bombed when it all starts, leaving him alone, to fend for himself. He burns his house down and leaves the city after the initial wave of people died and leaves on a road to nowhere, alone and untrustworthy of anyone else after an encounter with someone who appeared kind turned sour very quickly. Clementine lived in a small town, where she though she would be safe from the pandemic, but she was wrong. after getting a second chance where a old neighbor turned evil let her go, she is making her way to Seattle to find her older brother, thinking he will know what to do. Micheal lived in the outskirts of a city, able to get a head start away from the "baggers" as he refers to the possessed people as, by joining with a group traveling through the countryside. and finally there is Aries, after any adults that could help lead her group all were lost to the baggers, she was involuntary appointed the leader of her group and can only remember one thing a stranger told her, never stay in groups.
My question is, if you were alone like most of the characters in the book, with limited supplies and people that want to kill you around every corner, what would you do? seek shelter somewhere safe? explore the country looking for other survivors, or something else?

Dark inside Blog 1
Imagine a world where everything starts to crumble under your feet. people descend into madness and chaos as the ground crumbles under your very feet. In this world, earthquakes bring the civilized world to the ground, half of everyone has a dark evil within them that brings out the worst of that person, turning them into violent killing machines. In this new world, 4 teenagers with different stories have to cope with this new life in this world, and must make difficult decisions and do terrible things to survive, as they would have to leave loved ones in danger or witness brutal events take place.
In a world like this, what would you do to prepare? How would you deal with the events as they unfold before you?
